At a panel discussion during DLD Munich 2025, moderated by Ann-Kristin Achleitner (TUM), Alexander Glätzle (planqc) and Dieter Kranzlmüller (LRZ) discussed the up-and-coming quantum computing scene in Munich. They emphasised Munich's strengths, including its established research institutions, strong partnerships with industry and government support through initiatives such as Munich Quantum Valley.
The Garching-based start-up planqc is currently developing a quantum system based on neutral atoms that offers 1000 qubits for calculations and is being prepared for integration into the LRZ's supercomputers.
