SharePoint Teamsite

For the collaboration of working groups the LRZ offers the possibility to use a team site on the Microsoft SharePoint Server instance of the LRZ. SharePoint is a portal technology by Microsoft to make information and documents accessible via web to a defined group of users. Among other things, it offers the possibility to make documents accessible to other team members or to work together on documents, to operate a group calendar, to manage contacts, to operate a blog or a wiki.

Included in the basic offer for a team site are

• a team site; sub sites need the approval of the LRZ
• 40 GB storage area, larger sites can only be used with the consent of the LRZ
• Backup
• unlimited transfer volume
• Access also from outside the MWN without VPN client only via the web address share.lrz.de
• Use of Sharepoint basic functionalities like website, calendar, blog, contacts, tasks, Office Web Apps Server
• Language support in German, other languages on request
• the number of individual users per client is limited to 20, but can be increased by agreement

Your institution must be connected to the central user administration at the LRZ.

User guidelines

The service-specific guidelines for the use of the Munich science network (in German) and for the SharePoint Teamsite (in German) must be observed.

Licence costs

The correct licensing of the client systems is the sole responsibility of the customer. For this service, the following licences are required for each user with a unique identifier

1x SharePoint CAL

for access to the Windows server.

The costs for licensing the necessary server systems are borne by the LRZ.

This service is made available to user classes 1, 2 and 3. The following fees are payable by the individual user classes.
