The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) enables the network configuration of computers to be carried out centrally from a server. This service is offered centrally by the LRZ for all universities connected to the Munich Science Network (MWN). In addition to the usual functions, dynamic DNS entries and extended DHCP options are also offered.
Scope of Services and Service Specifics
DHCP, dynamic DNS updates, static address assignment, PXE boot, display of assigned IP addresses.
Requirements
Only institutions that are connected to the MWN can use this service.
