The increasing threats to cyber security, legal compliance requirements and the increasing digitalisation of the university landscape require an appropriate level of information security at Bavarian universities. By establishing a cross-university IT service for information security (HITS IS), competences that are required at all university locations have been bundled and made available to all Bavarian universities as a service.
HITS IS coordinates Bavaria-wide communication in the field of information security, provides specialised technical and process-oriented knowledge on information security and promotes and encourages the development and exchange of knowledge in a Bavaria-wide network of information security specialists at the universities.
The team is spread across four locations: Augsburg University of Applied Sciences, Augsburg University of Applied Sciences, Munich University of Applied Sciences and the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre in Garching.
