Scope of Services and Service Specifics
- A structured software stack with libraries (optimized for the respective target architectures), compilers, parallel run-time environments, and open-source as well as commercial applications is supplied to all users of LRZ HPC systems. For all packages the documentation necessary for deployment is accessible.
- HPC housing systems may use existing and compatible LRZ softwarestacks. Generally, adaption to specific hardware configurations will not be done.
- For treatment of problems from specific scientific domains LRZ has established so-called Application Labs that support the communities with the deployment, porting, and optimization of their software packages and workflows on the LRZ HPC systems. In particular, support will be granted to KONWIHR projects and GCS compute projects.
Requirements
- Usage and support for the software stack: User must have a valid account on one of the HPC resources at LRZ. Support query must be submitted via the Service Desk.
- Support for porting or optimization of a user's in-house software package to an LRZ HPC system: User must have a valid account on one of the HPC resources at LRZ. Support query must be submitted via the Service Desk.

Fees
For user requirements for application support that are associated with a significantly above-average workload and are not covered by dedicated project resources, personnel costs are invoiced on an hourly basis on the basis of a prior estimate of the work involved. The prerequisite for this is that the LRZ has the necessary expertise and capacity to implement the customer's request.
