Software Procurement and Licences

The LRZ has concluded framework agreements, campus and state licenses with numerous manufacturers, which enable the universities to purchase the products at mostly very favorable conditions. These contracts are often supra-regionally valid framework agreements, so that not only the Munich universities can benefit from these privileges, but if possible all Bavarian universities (sometimes even beyond Bavaria). For the Munich universities (including the Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences, but mostly with the exception of the University of the Federal Armed Forces Munich), the software is obtained directly from the Leibniz Computing Center under such contracts.
