IT specialists have good future prospects in the IT sector. You will familiarise yourself with innovative technologies and various areas of responsibility during your training at LRZ.
Do your friends ask you for advice on notebooks or online tools? Do you already code or are you interested in getting into coding? Then we need to meet you: The LRZ trains IT specialists and is looking for people with A-Levels, GCSEs and comparable school-leaving qualifications or students who would prefer to focus on practical work. Here you will learn to configure work environments, set up servers, install networks and write smaller programmes all by yourself. Can we count on you?
In our modern, well-equipped environment, you will get to know a wide variety of working models: agile approaches as well as mobile working.
At LRZ, you will work with various systems and state-of-the-art technology and gain insights into various areas of responsibility.
A wide variety of research projects: The LRZ gives you plenty of opportunities to take on exciting and meaningful projects and develop your own skills.
Growth and prospects: Once you have completed your training, chances are high you can continue working with us, study alongside your job or gain further qualifications with e.g. taking certificates.
A secure job with transparent payment scheme: We need IT specialists, pay them in accordance with collective agreements and create prospects that go beyond training.
#WeareLRZ, #weareTeam: LRZ colleagues create a diverse, friendly working environment, focus on team spirit and support you in your learning. #Jointheteam.
You will install work environments for LRZ and work with the Linux, MacOS and Windows operating systems as well as suitable programmes or apps. You will regularly update software and apps to maintain system security. There are always new questions where you can support users with your expertise.
The LRZ connects universities’ communications systems using the Munich Scientific Network. You support the expansion of WLAN networks and the operation of the infrastructure, so that researchers and students are able to work online at all times.
As the application period starts in the November prior to the course start date and therefore prior to you getting your exam results, we only need your last two school reports at the time you submit your application to give us an idea of your strengths. However, please note that you will need to send us a copy of your final exam results by the time the course starts.
We will focus on your grades in German, English, Maths, and IT in particular, working under the assumption that you are interested in IT and technology and these subjects are important to you. That said, we do not expect top grades. We prefer you to show us why you are interested in IT, that you like problem solving, and that you can work and enjoy working independently as well as part of a team.
We start by collecting applications, selecting candidates and inviting them to attend an interview. This starts with a test lasting approx. 30 minutes in which we ask about what you learned in school and your other skills. You will then take part in an interview with the training coordinators in which we will discuss your interests and profile, and which gives you the opportunity to ask us any questions you might have. We generally let all applicants know whether they have secured a course place.
Our Training Coordinators Sarah Struck and Alessandro Podo would be happy to answer your questions. Get in touch.
