Multicore Atomic Quantum Computing Systems (MAQCS) has the goal to develop a digital and universally programmable neutral atom quantum computer with more than 1,000 qubits.

The “Multicore Atomic Quantum Computing Systems” (MAQCS) project aims to develop a digital and universally programmable neutral atom quantum computer with more than 1,000 qubits. Based on an innovative multi-core architecture, this quantum computer is to be integrated as a co-processor in the HPC environment of the Leibniz Supercomputing Center. MAQCS thus opens the door for academic and industrial users to test the technological advantages of a digital neutral atom co-processor for the first time.
